Agent Venom - The Last Page

This is a milestone deviation for me. Not because it's the first time I've ever drawn Venom IV (Flash Thompson) in his full suit, but because this is the last drawing in my red sketchbook, the first personal sketchbook I've ever completely filled.

It began as a sketchbook for my first college-level Beginning Art class, using up 8.5 pages front and back for various assignments, including gesture drawings and still-lifes (all look like crap, but that's considering it's my first art class since my last Animation class in high school the semester before). Due to complications in my first semester, I had to drop that class. So personal sketches dominated the following 2.5 pages until I returned the following year to Beginning Drawing (with an instructor whose memory--to this day--boils my blood). Assignments take up 2 more pages before we move onto larger media. From there on out, it's all personal sketches to this page. It's fun to look back at the invisible wave chart that defined my artistic skills over two or so years, documenting their rise as I drew more often and the sudden fall when I returned from a brief hiatus. Overall, I'm proud of the work in there (maybe one or two sketches I wouldn't show people for my own reasons). Lots and lots of Venom and the Mad Mummy. Heck, almost everything I've uploaded sketch-wise to dA since 2008 has been from this sketchbook.

Sure there's a couple pages that could be filled out, and sketches that should be completed, but this is literally THE LAST SKETCH for this book, and I decided to go all-out (if that's what you call it). I'm definitely gonna ink and color this baby when I get the time. Now, to dig out one of my old, mostly incomplete sketchbooks to continue the ultra-hobby!
