I love legos. They were among my favorite toys as a child, and they still enchant me today--especially now, since there will be sets based on Marvel Superheroes, the Lord of the Rings, and the Hobbit, all coming out later this year! Satisfies both the geek and kid in me...
Anyways, finally constructed a Venom-themed lego model. I was originally going to make a cool Venom figure, but even with this model I had troubles with conception I'm sure I would never have with the physical pieces. The Lego Digital Designer program has always given me trouble, and if you could see inside the head, you could spot where things that would have fit just fine in real life didn't in the program. Ah, digital limitations.
The jaw and upper set of teeth are movable on a hinge, and the tongue is removable and opposable (to an extent), as seen in the middle screenshot in the bottom row. The last screenshot in that row merely gives a sense of scale.
If you blur your vision just enough, the three-dimensionality and eye shapes look passable enough...
Unfortunately, the LDD program no longer has the "Build and Purchase" option (which is perfect, really--it was overpriced to begin with). I'll look into finding a way to make this set purchasable (minifig not included!). As for an instruction manual, LDD always made horrendous manuals...but it works, I guess. So, model purchasing information coming soon. I'll also throw this over to Marvel, see if they want to include it in future LEGO Superhero sets.

Amazing! LEGO Digital Designer's pretty fun to mess around with.
